About the cabin...
- How far is the Chalet from...?
Snow Summit Chalet is about three hours from San Diego and two hours from Orange and L.A. Counties, although heavy weekend or holiday traffic can add 30 minutes to an hour to those times. Go to the directions page and plug in your address to get a more exact estimate.
- Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, but it's complicated based on when you're staying with us. In the winter season there is at least a two night minimum with longer minimum stays for some holidays. It's best to call our rental agency to get the details.
- How much is it per night?
Off-season rates start at $275/night (weekdays) and $325/night (Fri/Sat). Winter season rates start at $325/night (weekdays), $525/night (Fri/Sat) with higher rates and longer minimum stays for some holiday weekends. You can check availability and prices on the reservations page.
- Are pets allowed?
Sorry, no pets are allowed on the property.
- Is smoking allowed?
There is no smoking allowed in the cabin. Smoking is permitted outside the cabin, although there are no ashtrays. We request that anyone taking a smoke break outside douse their cigarettes and put the butts in the trash
- What does my rental include?
Just about everything. All linens, blankets, towels and pillows are included. The kitchen is fully equiped, check our cabin details page for a more complete listing. And we handle the cleaning after you leave!
About Big Bear and Snow Summit ski resorts

- Does one lift ticket work for both mountains?
Yes! A ticket purchased at Big Bear is valid at Snow Summit and visa versa. There is a free, 1.5 mile shuttle that can take you back and forth between the two mountains. You can even buy your lift ticket online.
- What's the snow like up there?
With an average annual snowfall of 100 inches plus 100% snowmaking coverage on both Big Bear and Snow Summit, you'll not be wanting for more coverage. You can always check the latest snow conditions at Snow Summit or Big Bear.
- Sounds great, but isn't is crowded?
Both resorts limit the number of tickets sold to keep lift lines as short as possible. If you're in, you're golden! So buy your lift ticket ahead of time to reserve your spot.
- What about beginners and lessons?
Big Bear Mountain has snowboarding lessons aimed at both beginners and those looking to dial in their freestyle moves. Adults and kids are welcome. Snow Summit Mountain has ski lessons for all levels of skier from ages 4 and up. Reservations are suggested for the Little Bear (ages 4 - 7) Camp and School programs as space is limited.
